ill missa
Each room gets its own character, so that a guest walks through a series of different "scenes", until she or he arrives at their "room".
Through opening the curtains, the space also allows for larger events (when opened completelly), or for "neighbors" to interact with each other - or choose to maintain their privacy.
In the northern area of Beijing's Sanlitun district are mostly upscale retail stores and restaurants located. One of those is 'ill missa', whose upstairs lounge area needed refurbishment.

The very irregular floorplan - two wider areas and a bottleneck next to the elevator core in the middle - gave reason for the concept tp develop a series of small rooms , each with a unique character and seperated by a series of curtains. To counteract the dividing elements, the long displaycase for wine and spirits cut through the entire lounge, connecting everything like a nail.
